Purpose 

As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will be responsible for making sure that all the deliverables pass all the quality checks and that all the quality matrices are in line with the business needs.

You will work closely with other engineers, product owners, and subject matter experts to understand the product objectives, customer demands & flow of code, and to design and implement a test plan around that.

You along with your team will manage the final quality of the production releases.

Accountabilities 

• Fully understand the deliverables by going through the project documents, customer requirements, product roadmap, code flows, and all the components involved.
• Helping in the test automation by defining the automation strategy and designing tools for unit, functional, and performance testing in a programmatic manner.
• Setting up, maintaining, and performing test automation frameworks on a high volume, distributed service-oriented architecture.
• Working with release & infrastructure teams and coordinating on product design by offering inputs on the testability of functional and non-functional elements.
• Add value to the product features by maintaining a high level of user story hygiene including estimations and status updates
• Growth of the engineering team by participating in hiring activities across the firm

About you:

Must have:

• 5+ years of SDET or similar role in any environment (Large Enterprise, SME, or Start-up)
• Very good Java experience
• Worked on creation of frameworks
• Excellent knowledge of test methodologies and their corresponding tools
• Exposure to Behaviour driven development
• API Automation, UI Automation, 
• testing experience for asynchronous applications(JMS, Kafka)
• Proven experience creating automation frameworks and tools to support test automation
• Comfortable working in an Agile environment where iterative development and regular demos are the norm
• Excellent design and programming skills
• Being curious – never be afraid to ask questions

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines with one of: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines
• Experience working in service oriented and event driven architectures
• Experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes as well as docker
• Familiar with Web 3.0 concepts, Distributed ledger technologies, etc.
• Asset management domain experience, for e.g. post trade, reference data, etc.
